Stair Treads and Plates are specially designed to provide a
quick and economical solution to the problem of slippery
surfaces, in line with the DDA Act Part III. Indoors or out,
Our EdgeGrip™, RungGrip™ and SlipGrip™ products are an ideal
solution for steps, walkways, machinery areas or even in
swimming pool areas. Safestep will make slippery areas safe,
providing a durable anti-slip surface suitable for pedestrian
traffic, even heavy pedestrian traffic.
According to the
HSE "Over a third of all major injuries reported each year are
caused as a result of a slip or trip (the single most common
cause of injuries at work). These cost employers over £300
million a year in lost production and other costs".
SlipGrip™ is a fibreglass is anti-slip stair tread that is
an ideal solution where there is water, oil and grease present
and can be installed using adhesives or screws.
SlipGrip™ is a
high quality composite of glass woven matting impregnated with
isophthalic polyester resin.
A compound of carbon and silicon grit is added in the final
layer of laminate providing a superb slip resistant and hard
wearing surface.
The versatility
of SlipGrip™ allows it to be applied to almost any surface
such as concrete, steel or wood. The fact that it is supplied
as a finished product means that it can be walked on straight
away thus keeping disruption to a minimum.
Size This product can be made to measure and is sold

EdgeGrip™ has been
developed as a cost effective, long-term solution to the
requirements as laid down by the Disability Discrimination Act
Part III and in particular, the sections relevant to the
partially sighted. The Act, in essence, requires that all
stairs, accessed by members of the public, should have a
contrasting coloured nosing fitted to all step edges and in
addition such nosings should provide a slip resistant surface.
EdgeGrip™ is a
pre-formed fibreglass profile, constructed by combining
polyester resins with fibre reinforcements. The slip
resistancy is achieved by the bonding of a carbon and silicone
compound to the surface. EdgeGrip™ is available in as an
internal and external application, with the external
containing a much heavier grit profile.

EdgeGrip™ is supplied in standard 1500mm lengths, larger
sizes can be supplied to order. For use on narrower steps,
simply cut to the required length using a conventional hacksaw
or similar cutting tool. We recommend fixing with a gap
adhesive and screws. EdgeGrip™ can be applied to most
substrates.
