Our EPOXO
systems are widely used in airport ground facilities and
service areas. This material resists a wide range of chemicals
and hydrocarbons. Among the many products that EPOXO is
impervious to is Skydrol. This jet hydraulic fluid is
notorious for attacking many coatings and surfacing products.
EPOXO also
resists Avcat, JP4 Kerosene and Hi-jet 3 aviation fuels.
EPOXO also
has other features that make it suitable for use in the
aviation industry:
- Abrasion resistant
- Withstands very high temperatures (i.e. Harrier jet
blast)
- Anti-sparking.
- Extremely skid resistant
- There are many uses for this material around airports,
including, Aircraft stands, runway, aero-docks, access
steps, service areas, ground handling facilities, scissor
trucks, tow trucks, ramps and walkways.
Preparation of concrete
areas All traces of oils, grease and aviation fluids
must be removed by high pressure washing using suitable grease
emulsifing agents. The surface must then be dried and moisture
free. For large areas such as aircraft stands and runways
traction areas, use an aircraft cabin heater, or hot
compressed air facilities.
Terminal Buildings Usually
terminal buildings have very large tiled areas in arrival,
departures and baggage reclaim halls. Tiles are extremely hard
wearing and durable, but become hazardous when slippery.
Airport terminals are particular potential hazard areas,
because passengers are often in a hurry and laden with heavy
baggage. A wet tile surface can easily cause a serious
slipping accident.
TRUSTY
STEP was designed for exactly this type of application,
and is in use in many airports.
